Can’t we just have a local celebrity or board member call the auction?

While local figures bring charm, they lack the specialized technical training to spot “bidding patterns” or the confidence to “work the room” for maximum revenue. A professional auctioneer will generate far more revenue, excitement and energy than an amateur, more than covering the cost of the professional fee.

What exactly is a ‘Special Appeal’?

Also known as a “Raise the Paddle” or “Fund a Need,” this is a segment where guests make 100% tax-deductible donations to a specific project or fund. It is the purest form of giving during your event and often generates more revenue than the live auction itself.

When should we bring you into the planning process?

The earlier, the better. Most organizations book 6–12 months in advance. Early involvement allows me to help you curate the right auction items and avoid common scheduling mistakes that can “kill” the room’s energy.

Do you provide ‘Ringmen’ or floor spotters?

Yes. I can provide or train “Professional Ringmen” who work the floor to assist bidders, relay bids to the stage, and maintain the high-energy atmosphere throughout the ballroom.
